Ellie

Former Student

My name is Ellie and I went to Thetford Grammar School from year 8 to year 13 and I am now studying Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire.

At TGS during my GCSEs, I studied a variety of subjects and then went on to study Chemistry, Biology and Maths at A-level. I initially struggled with my a-levels particularly maths however my teachers supported me throughout my time in sixth form and I thrived in the small class sizes and with the help of my teachers managed to achieve A*AA.

From the start of sixth form I thought about the idea of following a path into the world of physiotherapy but was unsure, my form teacher helped me to apply to a short course at
UEA that gave me a taste of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. This then confirmed to me that physiotherapy was the career for me, I applied for work experience at a local private practice and at West Suffolk which greatly helped my university application.

I am now about to start my final year of studying Physiotherapy which I have thoroughly enjoyed as well as working as a therapy assistant at West Suffolk when I can.
